01 What this site stores in your browser

The site uses browser storage for four small preference and state values:

• fn.theme in local storage records light, dark, or system appearance.
• fn.seen in local storage records that the entry screen has been passed on this browser.
• fn.consent.v1 in local storage records whether analytics storage is allowed or denied.
• fn.entered in session storage records entry for the current browser session.

These values are stored on your device, not in a site account or database. You can clear them here:

02 Visit statistics

Google Analytics 4 provides de-identified visit statistics. Analytics is enabled unless you choose Only essential in the cookies notice. When enabled, Google may set identifiers such as _ga and receive information including your IP address, browser user-agent, and the page viewed. Advertising storage and personalisation are always denied. See Google’s privacy policy.

03 Contact form & spam check

The contact form does not send a message to this site. It opens a draft in your own email application, and you decide whether to send it. Any email you send is handled by your email provider and mine.

Cloudflare Turnstile performs an automated-traffic check at the entry screen and when the contact form is submitted. It processes the signals needed to make that check; the contact message text is not sent through Turnstile. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

04 Third parties, controls & changes

Cloudflare also delivers and protects the site. Fonts are bundled locally. Outbound links, including Google Scholar, ORCID, LinkedIn, X, and publisher DOI pages, are governed by those services’ own practices.

There is no user account or personal-data database on this site. You can decline analytics in the cookies notice or clear browser storage above. If these practices change, this page and its date will be updated. Questions can be sent through the contact form.
